About this session:

Toxic employees try to take over and create toxic workplaces — and the problem is on the rise. They consume managers’ time, undermine mission, and prevent organizations from developing top talent. This highly interactive, story-driven session with Mauricio Velásquez will help HR professionals and leaders understand toxic behaviors, recognize their true costs, and — most importantly — build the skills and confidence to address them head-on.

Topics include Psychological Safety, Trust, the "Nevers vs. Prefers" behavior framework, and practical techniques for stepping up and speaking out. Participants will leave with tools they can use immediately.

Learning objectives

  • Understand what workplace toxicity is and how to recognize it
  • Learn the costs of unaddressed toxic behavior on teams and organizations
  • Build skills to address toxic behaviors confidently and effectively
  • Apply the "Nevers vs. Prefers" framework to define and reinforce positive workplace norms
  • Foster psychological safety and mutual accountability across your team
